Sanaa Lathan

Once we start chatting, Sanaa Lathan’s a bit punchy. There’s a huge, high-decibel construction project taking place outside her modest L. A. residence, and she keeps interrupting herself to be able to giggle, sigh loudly, or apologize for that noise. “Do you hear this? It’s awful! ” she yells, a loose, practically mischievous laugh spilling from her because it does many times over the course of our dialogue. “This is when I wish I had any 9-to-5. ”
